Snowman Shirt

Sewing pattern pieces

Sewing all the cut pattern pieces together.  The tricky part is lining up the snowmen in straight lines.  Pictured here, I am prepping the front piece to sew the vertical darts to create a finished form-fitted look.  The yellow dots are points to match up the left and right of a fold that runs vertically along one front shirt piece.  The grey line is the sew line.  The second picture shows the front shirt piece prior to folding.  Notice the dots and grey sew lines detailing two darts, one vertical and one for the breast, to be folded, matching up dots, and sewn.  The finished shirt is pictured on the blog page.

Starting new sewing project

Sewing a snowman shirt using frosty blue corduroy embroidered with snowmen.  Arranging the fabric to cut the pattern is very tricky!  The snowmen have to be arranged and oriented perfectly so that once sewn together the snowmen line up and are spaced appropriately.  Pictured here is the shirt back.  Notice the four snowmen on the yoke two pieces are uniform.  This arrangement has to be accomplished for each piece.  It  is very time consuming but will be worth it!  Check back for progress . . .
